The American Cancer Society (ACS), founded in 1913, is one of the oldest and largest voluntary health agencies in the United States. Thanks to our ability to leverage public and private support and form lasting strategic partnerships, ACS is the nation's most comprehensive cancer organization, consisting of a national Society with 13 regional divisions throughout the country. The Great West Division represents 12 western states, including Arizona, and is led by a 24-member Board of Directors with the support of more than 200,000 volunteers.
Mission: The American Cancer Society is the nation-wide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
